Summer Piano Program at the Liszt Academy

2012 Summer Piano Program at the Liszt Academy, July 1-21.

 

The Franz Liszt Academy of Music Summer Piano Program is a three-week, intensive course of study for piano students ages 16 and above featuring private lessons and master classes with Liszt Academy piano faculty. This program offers participants a unique and rare opportunity to experience piano teaching in the great Hungarian tradition of the Liszt Academy. Students will enjoy abundant practice time and can take advantage of performance opportunities, including a student recital in the new Ligeti György building. Budapest is one of Europe's great capitals; this vibrant and fascinating city will provide a stimulating learning environment with many opportunities to attend recitals, concerts and operas.

Program fee of $2,200 USD includes:

- two private lessons (60 min) per week
- participation in master classes (by audition)
- access to four hours of practice time per day in the Academy's new   Ligeti György building
- dormitory lodging in close proximity to the Academy (double occupancy)
- tours of Budapest's main historic and cultural sites
- transportation pass (valid on buses, subways and trams) including unlimited access for the entire month of July
- airfare NOT included; students must arrange their own flights to Budapest

How to apply?
Students should send:
- one letter of recommendation from their major piano instructor
- unedited CD or DVD of a performance of two pieces of contrasting character and style
